On Thursday of last week - the 143rd day of 2019, South Butler Intermediate students acknowledged 1-4-3 Day in honor of Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers said the number 143 was the best number to him because the numbers represent the numbers of letters in the words "I Love you".
To honor his memory and to demonstrate what a caring community the intermediate school is, students were encouraged to do a kind gesture for someone, then write it down on a special slip of paper and post it so all could see the great things being done.
The PTO was generous enough to provide each student with an Eat-n-Park smiley cookie at the end of the day.
